Racu is a commune in Harghita County, Romania comprising of 2 villages: Racu, Satu Nou/Göröcsfalva. Formerly part of Siculeni (Madéfalva) commune, the 2 villages broke off in 2004 with a population of approximately 1,500. The commune has an absolute Székely Hungarian majority. (For ethnic composition check demographics for Siculeni.) Harghita in the center of Romania, in eastern Transylvania, with the county seat at Miercurea-Ciuc. Harghita county has the highest percentage of Hungarians in Romania, just ahead of Covasna county. The primary Hungarian group, the Székely (Szeklers, Secui in Romanian), form the majority of the population in most of the county's municipalities, with Romanians concentrated in the northern part of the county, particularly Topli a and B lan.
