The club was established in 1876 and, in 2005, entered into the FA Vase competition for the first time. As of the 2009-10 season, the club plays in the East Midlands Counties League. Radcliffe Olympic FC was founded in 1876, making it one of the oldest football Clubs in the local area, a forerunner for other Clubs. During the early period the standard of players at the Club was extremely high. One player who was to go on to play international football was Harry Butler Daft who played for the Club in the early 1890's.
