This book is based on a research-work that assessed the level of radiation exposure to patients and staff i.e. doctors, nurses, radiographers and auxiliary staff normally present during x-ray fluoroscopically-guided interventional procedures in Kenyan hospitals. In addition, the author gives an insight into the general practice in interventional procedures as relates to radiation safety. The book is suitable for practicing radiologists, diagnostic medical physicists, radiographers, hospital radiation safety officers and regulatory authority inspectors as well as radiology and medical physics residents, trainees and students in the above areas; especially those with great interest on practice in Kenya and the East African region at large.
Autorentext
The Author holds BSc(Physics) and MSc(Nuclear Science) degrees from the University of Nairobi and Certificate in Radiotherapy Technology from Aga Khan University Hospital,Karachi. He works at Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi. He is a researcher, consultant and part-time lecturer in both Diagnostic & Radiotherapy Physics.
