Radio Brunel (previously called B1000 and University Radio Brunel) is a student-run university radio station belonging to Brunel University. Shows are broadcast from a ground floor studio at the back of the student union. It was one of the first student radio stations to go on the air back in the 1970s. Originally broadcast via the radiators in halls bedrooms, moving room to room like a pirate station, they settled in the ground-floor of Chepstow halls in 1979. After flirting with AM and FM broadcast systems, it, like many student stations, ceased broadcasting due to lack of funding.
