He has been in the position since 1972. For more than thirty years, Rafael Pineda has been the lead news anchor on WXTV. In 1988 he became host of the first Spanish language first local interview program in the tri-state area, "Punto y Aparte". Rafael has led Noticias 41 to the first place in the New York market out of all the in the Spanish language newscasts. Rafael has been the first Hispanic news anchor to interview to political figures and celebrities such as Bill Clinton and Desi Arnaz.
