This book aims to teach the essential principles of statistics in biosciences and bioinformatics. However, researchers in all fields that deal with data need this knowledge. In this book, we have tried to explain the contents as clearly as possible. Each section consists of a simple theoretical explanation, examples from bioinformatics or daily life, and R commands for analyzing and visualizing data. This book is a quick guide with rationalized concepts. This book starts in the simplest possible way with examples from our daily lives and then moves onto the bioinformatics approach. Also, in each section, you learn R programming to analyze your data by yourself, like a piece of cake. This book is not a reference book, but it will help readers to gain a vision about statistics in science and assists them to find their way in this field.

Mahsa Torkamanian-Afshar hat an der Universität Teheran in Bioinformatik promoviert. Ihre Forschungsinteressen umfassen Algorithmen, insbesondere Techniken der künstlichen Intelligenz für biologische Probleme und Aptamere. Sie ist Fakultätsmitglied der Abteilung für Computertechnik an der Nisantasi Universität. Die Lebensläufe der beiden anderen Autoren sind im Buch enthalten.
