Ratra Aarambh (Devnagari: ????? ????) is a thriller Marathi movie directed by Ajay Phansekar released in India in 1999 starring Dilip Prabhavalkar as an old man suffering from split personality. Prabhavalkar won Filmfare award for his role. Marathi cinema (????? ???????) is Maharashtrian film industry in Marathi language, one of the oldest film industry in Union of India. The first Marathi talkie film, Ayodhyecha Raja (produced by Prabhat Films) was released in 1932, just one year after "Alam Ara" the first Hindi talkie film. Marathi cinema has grown in recent years. The industry is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Marathi Cinema is as old as Cinema in India. In fact the pioneer of cinema in Union of India was Dadasaheb Phalke - a Marathi man from Maharashtra, who brought the revolution of moving images to India with his first indigenously made film Raja Harishchandra. It was a silent film, but is part of Marathi cinema as it was made by a Marathi crew.
