Reading Comprehension: An Essential Skill

There's a big difference between being able to read words and being able to comprehend the meaning of the sentences and to understand the structure of the sentence you read. English is taught to the students in our formal education system. In this system listening, speaking, reading and writing skills of a language are developed. Out of these four skills, reading is one of the chief sources of gaining knowledge. Reading is an important factor in contemporary world for the development of any person. If comprehension does not take place while reading, it turns to be only a mechanical process. Reading without comprehension is meaningless. Now-a-days reading comprehension is become very essential topic for ever student, either he is in school or applying for any competitive exam and visa for abroad. Comprehension plays important role in every sphere of education.
