Readings in Corporate Social Responsibility
Details
Events around the world over the last few decades have emphasized the need for corporate entities, their stakeholders, governments and international organizations to take the issue of corporate social responsibility seriously. Today all leading corporate houses in India are involved in various CSR programmes involving education, health and empowerment of women and weaker sections. CSR as a concept argues that enterprises should strive to achieve the delicate balance between socio-economic, environmental concerns and financial factors. This volume identifies the next generation of Corporate Social Responsibility issues that business practitioners will face. New frameworks and concepts are discussed to help sharpen the focus of integration of social responsibility throughout operations. The research papers in this volume decipher the domain of CSR, identify the priorities especially in a world of depleting resources, with an active debate on how a sustainable global market can embrace others within finite resources.
