Reconstructive microsurgery of hand injuries and their consequences

The monograph summarizes the experience gained over 18 years in the Department of Reconstructive Plastic Microsurgery and Hand Surgery at the A.N. Syzganov National Research Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics in treating hand injuries and their consequences. A diagnostic algorithm for examining patients with hand injuries is proposed, and an algorithm for the actions of medical personnel at all stages of care for patients in this category is presented. Tactical options for the treatment of traumatic amputation of hand segments, injuries to vascular-nerve bundles and tendons of the fingers, defects and deformities of the tissues of the hand and fingers are highlighted. Methods of reconstructive interventions on the bones and tendons of the hand developed by the authors are described. An improved rehabilitation protocol following reconstructive surgery is presented. The book is intended for students and teachers of medical universities and training courses in plastic surgery, practicing plastic surgeons, traumatologists, and burn specialists.
