Regionalization and access

This book portrays the research conducted on the regionalization strategy of the Brazilian Unified Health System regarding the access to health services. Byon regionalization and its aspects that converge to the "access", the research outlines reflections on this understanding and can contribute to a better understanding, or even motivate the production of new research. Through an integrative review of studies produced between 2015 and 2020, twelve articles were selected to analyze in which aspects regionalization converged (or not) with access. Under such a lens, the central axes such as the right to health, financing and territorial organization were permeated, detecting the existence of assertive gaps in how regionalization relates to "access". Within the character of application in professional practice, it is concluded that the change of focus depends on the adoption of a new paradigm that involves a process of "empowered regionalization" that is transparent and collaborative among all actors involved.

Máster en Gestión Clínica por la Universidad Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), licenciada en Comunicación Social y especialista en auditoría en Salud (MBA). Actualmente es profesor de Educación Básica en el estado de São Paulo impartiendo la asignatura de Lengua Portuguesa. Ha ocupado cargos en el gobierno municipal de Río Claro/SP.
