Rejuvenating Urban Water Bodies
Details
This book is an attempt at creating a framework for the restoration of degraded waterbodies in urban areas through the analysis of Mullassery canal in the city of Kochi in Kerala. The approach adopted for the reclamation and rejuvenation of this tidal canal involves a detailed assessment of the context, extensive literature review and study of similar cases around the world. This has brought about a better understanding of the issues and stakeholders associated with the canal restoration process, leading to a solution that addresses immediate concerns. The flexible structure of the proposed solution enables its usage in restoration of any such waterbody.
