Klappentext This translational reference will detail the nephrological problems unique to patients with cancer in an organized and authoritative fashion. The major audience for this book will be clinical oncologists and nephrologists, including fellows-in-training. It will also appeal to general internal medicine and family medicine physicians who commonly provide medical care to cancer patients. It will also serve as a reference guide to physicians-in-training. In the past, renal disease in cancer patients received little attention because the overall prognosis of patients with malignancy was poor. However, with the advent of better supportive care and the era of personalized medicine, patients with cancer are living longer, and oncologists and nephrologists are beginning to recognize the serious consequences of renal disease in this patient population. Similar to other specialties such as cardiothoracic surgery, cardiology, and radiology, oncologists are just now realizing the significant impact small changes in renal function have on their patients mortality. However, in most general oncology and nephrology textbooks currently available, there is no organized presentation of the various renal diseases unique to cancer patients. Inhaltsverzeichnis 1.
