Representing Reality through Photographic Reality

The photograph has constantly been considered an objective reality, even though it is merely an image. Furthermore, photography has a paradoxically dual characteristic, that is, artistic or applied. These two trends can take the place of each other, although each one can never be both simultaneously. This book discusses how these trends can be both simultaneously and how they may overtake objective reality. This reality imitates objective reality but it is not. It is considerably exotic, attractive, informative, and beautiful, but also relatively different, delicately lying, and completely believable. Welcome to the concept of photographic reality.

Farhad Fakhrian Roghani est un photographe professionnel, un artiste et un conférencier iranien. Il a obtenu une licence et une maîtrise en photographie à l'université d'art de Téhéran, en Iran, et un doctorat en beaux-arts à l'Universiti Sains Malaysia. Il a organisé de nombreuses expositions collectives et individuelles, tant au niveau local qu'international, et a participé en tant que juré à de nombreux festivals de photographie.
