This book provides a widespread knowledge about research procedures. There are various procedures in research process. It is therefore necessary to make students understand the basic concepts and different methods of research, with special reference to social science research. Research is one of the most important components in sustainable development, it is necessary to provide the students basic knowledge about research methods and techniques. The book covers different aspects such as basic concepts of research, types of research, preparation of research proposals, sampling methods, data collection methods, data analysis methods and preparation of research report. Dr. M. Muthyalu has studied M.A. degree in rural development and he obtained Ph.D. degree in rural development from Srikrishna Devaraya University, Ananthapur, India. Then he worked in different institutions in the field of Rural Development and cooperative sectors. Presently, he is working as an Assistant Professor in Mekelle University, Ethiopia.
