Research on Noise Impact in Some Biological Systems

In the last several decades, the stochastic resonance (SR) phenomena which arise in the biological system due to the impact of noises have drawn the increasing interest from biologists and physicists recently. In various cases, noises play an indispensible role in stimulating the SR effect in the biological systems. Therefore, the effect of noise has attracted the extensive and various attention from scientists in different fields. In a lot of nonlinear dynamical systems, scholars have made a great deal of investigation, and some very interesting and meaningful results are discovered.A large amount of academic research has been conducted on issues such as time delay, Gaussian noise, and non Gaussian noise in FitzHugh-Nagumo neural system and metapopulation system.This book is dedicated to discuss the combined action of time delay and colored cross-correlated Gaussian colored noises on dynamical characteristics for a FitzHugh-Nagumo neural system, and the impact of time delay and non-Gaussian noise on stochastic resonance and stability for a stochastic metapopulation system.
