The book describes the phytochemical investigations of three medicinal plants; Rhododendron lepidotum, Salvia sclarea and Podophyllum hexandrum, in addition to chemical modifications of D-pinitol, sclareol and podophyllotoxin, the major isolates from R. lepidotum, S. sclarea and P. hexandrum respectively, and bio-evaluation studies of the synthesized derivatives. The chemistry involved in the synthesis of analogs includes modern click chemistry, modified Heck Coupling reaction along with other conventional chemical reactions

Dr. Shakeel u Rehman, presently working as Lecturer in JK Education Department, Govt. of India, has worked as SRF in BOC Division of Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) Srinagar, India. He has pursued his M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees after qualifying NET conducted by CSIR-India and has 30+ international publications to his credit.
