Responses Of Avocado Plants To Salinity

Faced with the growing problems of soil salinity, scientists look for potential solutions to provide food security and and reduce poverty. A thourough understanding of the ecophysiological processes that help plants or crops adapt to environmental stressess is therefore crucial.This book is arranged into five sections which cover information on the ecophysiology of plants in relation to salinity. The book demonstrate how salinity affects growth, stomatal conductance,transpiration, photosynthesis and mineral nutrient uptake in plants especially in young avocado plants. David Mutisya Musyimi Ph.D. is a lecturer in the department of Botany, at Maseno University, Kenya. His research interests include ecophysiology of the plant interactions and tree-crop interactions under agroforestry systems. He teaches agroforestry and plant ecophysiology.He is married and blessed with three children.
