Details

This book offers a provocative account of interdisciplinary research across the neurosciences, social sciences and humanities. Rooting itself in the authors' own experiences, the book establishes a radical agenda for collaboration across these disciplines. This book is open access under a CC-BY license.

Rethinking Interdisciplinarity is first and foremost the authors' personal account of the experience of being (together or separately) part of various groups that brought together among others social scientists, humanities researchers and neuroscientists. Rethinking Interdisciplinarity is a valuable resource for the medical humanities as it provides an insight into the challenges experienced (and confronted) by researchers in a diverse range of fields. Rethinking Interdisciplinarity is a worthwhile read for everyone involved in collaborative practice. (Dr. Svetlana Sholokhova, Centre for Medical Humanities, centreformedicalhumanities.org, December, 2016)

The book is beautifully written. The vignettes from the field are vivid and offer rich insights into the ups and downs of co-laborative fieldwork in the neurosciences. The book sets out to deliver an honest account of 'what goes into and what goes on in' experimental entanglements within the neurosciences and it is successful in delivering that. (Jörg Niewöhner, Somato Sphere, somatosphere.net, February, 2016)
