Rethinking Our Ecosystems
Details
The International Conference on Climate Change and Ecosystem Restoration (ICCCER), organized by The Restoration Alliance and Moi University, addresses and consolidates efforts toward climate change mitigation through landscape restoration. With a special emphasis on the Great Rift Valley's unique and biodiverse landscapes, this conference aims to create a robust platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration between academia, government agencies, civil society organizations, and private sector actors.
ICCCER focuses on the cross-disciplinary themes of climate change, ecosystem conservation, adaptation, and landscape restoration. Major themes of the 2024 meeting highlight the management of restoration projects, AI and other emerging technologies, practical aspects of biodiversity and conservation initiatives, and cross-sectoral initiatives that incorporate health, agriculture, socio-economic aspects with climate change adaptation and mitigation and ecosystem restoration.
Features practical, innovative restoration and conservation programs in Kenya's Great Rift Valley Presents contributions examining AI applications for ecosystem management and restoration Highlights cross-sectoral strategies for climate change mitigation and adaptation
