Retrieval Efficiency of Major Search Engines

This book is an outcome of a research conducted on seven major search engines - Google, Bing, Yahoo, Ask, Baidu, Dogpile and DuckDuckgo (Chosen on filtration of certain parameters which are explained in the book). These search engines are selected for retrieving scholarly articles using Library and Information Science related search terms. The search engines are evaluated by taking the first twenty results pertaining to 'scholarly articles' for estimation of precision, recall and F-measure. The study is systematically organized into various sections describing the various stages of this research.
