Reviewing of planning and design standards in urban residential area

This book reviews the application of planning and design standards in urban residential areas. It investigates whether the existing development implemented on the ground is made in accordance with the standards stipulated by the Physical and Landuse Planning policies. Referenced was made to Kabati area which is one of the residential areas in Naivasha town in Kenya. The main factors or issues involved in the analysis in this project include analysis of Plot ratio, plot coverage, land use activities, Building density, and encroachment. The research methodology involved both qualitative and quantitative data collections in order to bring out data that are strong and reliable in making an appropriate decision. The finding indicated that the study area is faced with challenge of not meeting the standards.
