Rhetoric in Matatu Register

Rhetoric in matatu register is a book that explores how language is used in Kenya public transport sector. The book analyses Language in the communication between the matatu crew and the passengers.The book analyses texts in the matatu register in the context of communication. The matatu service is vital to the passagers as it speeds up travel.An analysis of the matatu register in Swahili has not been carried out.The author has done Linguistic analysis of the matatu register from a linguistic perspective. This book therefore serves to provide the knowledge required to bring together the phonological, grammatical and lexical aspects to make communication effective.

Autorentext

The author is a Kiswahili Linguistics Lecturer at Mount Kenya University main Campus, Thika. He is currently the Head of Department , Kiswahili and other African Languages. He holds a B.Ed ( Arts) and an M.A (Kiswahili Linguistics ) from Kenyatta University. He is currently completing his Ph.D (Kiswahili Linguistics )at Mount Kenya University.
