It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home field of the Rockford RiverHawks minor league baseball team. It opened in 2006. The capacity is 4,246 people. It replaced the club's former home, Marinelli Field. As of 2007, the Rockford College Regents will play their home games at Road Ranger Stadium. The field also hosted the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class A and AA Supersectional in 2007. The Rockford RiverHawks are a professional baseball team based in the Rockford, Illinois suburb of Loves Park, in the United States. Currently the RiverHawks are a member of the Northern League. The ownership has announced that they would no longer be a part of the Frontier League, following the 2009 season. From the 2002 season to 2005, the RiverHawks' home field was Marinelli Field in Rockford, Illinois. In 2006, the RiverHawks moved into their new home, Road Ranger Stadium, located in Loves Park, Illinois.
