High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Robbinston is a town in Washington County, Maine, United States. The population was 525 at the 2000 census. Laurence Trimble (1885-1954) was born in Robbinston. He was one of the leading film directors for the Vitaphone Co. between 1910 and 1926, ultimately directing 101 silent films. He also owned and trained the film-acting dog Strongheart, the first canine film star, whom he directed in such films as White Fang (1925). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 33.7 square miles (87.3 km²), of which, 28.2 square miles (73.0 km²) of it is land and 5.5 square miles (14.3 km²) of it (16.40%) is water. The population density was 18.6 people per square mile (7.2/km²). There were 329 housing units at an average density of 11.7/sq mi (4.5/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 95.81% White, 1.33% Native American, and 2.86% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.57% of the population.
