Rogalino [r a lin ] (formerly German Röglin) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina widwin, within widwin County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-western Poland. It lies approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) north-east of widwin and 95 km (59 mi) north-east of the regional capital Szczecin. Before 1945 the area was part of Germany. For the history of the region, see History of Pomerania. The history of Pomerania dates back more than 10,000 years. Settlement in the area started by the end of the Vistula Glacial Stage, about 13,000 years ago. Archeological traces have been found of various cultures during the Stone and Bronze Age, of Veneti and Germanic peoples during the Iron Age and, in the Middle Ages, Slavic tribes and Vikings.
