Roger Patrick Blundell Drayton (born 4 January 1925 Templeton) was a New Zealand politician of the Labour Party. Roger Drayton represented the St Albans electorate from 1969 to 1978, when he retired (Wilson, p. 193). He was Chief Opposition Whip 1976-78 (Traue, p. 102). Drayton was a former Squadron Leader in the RNZAF 1944-69. The New Zealand Labour Party (M ori: R p Reipa o Aotearoa) is a New Zealand political party. It describes itself as centre-left and socially progressive and has been one of the two primary parties of New Zealand politics since 1935. After defeat in the 2008 elections, the Labour party forms the second-largest (in terms of parliamentary seats) political party represented in the New Zealand Parliament, and functions as the core of the Official Parliamentary Opposition.
