Role of Information Technology in upgrading Modern Information Society

Information has very important role in human development like air is essential for the survival of all living organisms on earth, including human beings. The tremendous change brought by new information technologies has a strong effect on society, in their living and working environment etc.It can not a hyperbole to say that the new technologies, the information technology has brought a great change in the society and made the society an information society , where the use of information is for the better development in every field. Information technology is a new term and complete term that completes all which describes the whole processes of information generation, storage, transmission, retrieval and processing of information. The history of IT can be marked to early civilization from when the art of recording of information developed. It followed first mechanical then later electronic path as in today s society, earlier information was recorded on stones, metal plates, clothes etc.
