Role of Secondary School in Promoting Girls Sports

This is an exclusive work of author. This book is about girls' sports and specially the role of promoting girls' sports in secondary schools. The research showed that secondary school going girls' faces multidimensional impediments regarding sports activity and physical education. The study basically focus on some stereotyping sports types like 'masculine' and 'feminine' sports. This study also disseminated some issues like puberty, dress code, lack of felicities, social cultural myth which left impact on girls' sports. it has been also observed that, patriarchal hegemonic mentality, traditional attitude norms, crisis of liberty, insecurity, lack of opportunities and guidance-all these hindrance girls' sports in Dhaka city in Bangladesh.

The author is a post graduate student in the Department of Women and Gender Studies,University of Dhaka.She attained the B.S.S Hon's degree From the same discipline.Her field of interest focused on her research work. Moreover she is working exclusively on gender inequality and development.
