This book entitled " Role of viruses in periodontal disease " is a well structured and a descriptive work which would help the reader explore the various insights into the initiation and progression of periodontal disease due to a viral etiology. The direct as well as the indirect roles various viruses play via different mechanisms have been well explained and made easy for every dental student to discern, understand and learn. We have to the best of our abilities have tried to make things simple to understand in the form of photos, flowcharts and suitable diagrams. Praise to the God almighty. Dr Subhash Rao Appikatla had completed his BDS from CMC Ludhiana in 2008 after which he did his PGDHA (Apollo) in 2012 and MHscPH (Public Health) from Chennai in 2014. On completing MDS in the field of Periodontology (2018) from IDST Modinagar, UP, he presently is the incharge of the dental department at Ruby Nelson Memorial Hospital in Jalandhar
