Role of Viscoelastic Hemostatic Assay In Severe Trauma Patients

Coagulopathy in trauma patients is increasing with severity of injury. Early detection of this trauma induced coagulopathy is crucial in timely management of patients to prevent morbidity and mortality attributed to complications arising out of trauma induced coagulopathy. This book consists of work on Viscoelastic Haemostatic Assay which detects early disturbances in coagulation within 24 hours after injury taking into account whole blood to assess coagulation property in contrast with plasma based conventional coagulation tests which do not consider important role of platelets in coagulation.
