Details

'Ruling the Unfamiliar' is a perennial issue that has haunted the empire and the post colonial authors alike in the form of 'how to or why to rule at all?' or 'why are we being ruled?'. Ruling comes to the forefront of the empire's project even when it claims to understand. A similar behavior of the present day empire makes this issue all the more pertinent. This work seeks to address the above and in such a manner is a contribution in understanding post colonial interpretation of Edmund Burke. It seeks to develop a contemporary relevance of Burke as well as an expansion of post colonial scholarship into political theory. The book can also be used to understand conservative thought as well as an introduction to the political philosophy of Burke.
