Russification of Soft Power
Details
Since the mid-2000s, Russia's interest in soft power has started to grow. Over the last decade, the concept of soft power has undergone a considerable transformation in order to fit Russia's worldview, its political values and strategic objectives. As a result, a new perspective on soft power, rather different from the original Western vision, has been introduced. What influenced Russia's understanding of soft power? How was soft power reconceptualized? And why does Russia percieve soft power dualistically? This book seeks to highlight peculiarities of the Russian interpretation of soft power and, thus, explores the limits of the soft power concept in itself.
