Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) is an electric-power generation and transmission and distribution company. It is the only power utility company in Sabah, Malaysia. There are 361,400 customers distributed over an area of 74,000 sq.km. Most (83%) of the customers are residential/domestic; however these residential customers only consume 28% of the system''s power. The total generation capacity is 785 MW, 59% (2,004.8 GWh) of the total units generated are purchased from independent power producers. There are 54 generating stations (including 5 IPP).The installed capacity of the West Coast Grid, which supplies electricity to Kota Kinabalu, Federal Territory Labuan, Keningau, Beaufort, Papar, Kota Belud, Kota Marudu and Kudat, is 488.4 MW and the maximum demand is 376.5 MW.
