SACRAL NEUROMODULATION

Sacral neuromodulation (SNM) has stabilized its position in the treatment of refractory overactive bladder and faecal incontinence. Many clinical trials have confirmed the effectiveness of SNM in the treatment of idiopathic urinary retention, Fowler's syndrome, and its beneficial effect on improving quality of life, including sexual functioning. This monograph aims to present the current and future potential of sacral neuromodulation.

Dr Jacek Szymäski graduated from the Medical University of Warsaw in 1990. In 1997, he specialized in obstetrics and gynaecology and defended his doctoral dissertation on the treatment of stress urinary incontinence in women in 2007. The scope of his interests focuses mainly on urogynaecological issues.
