Sadegh Sharafkandi (Born 11 January 1938 died 17 September 1992) was an Iranian Kurdish political activist and the Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (PDK). He was assassinated at the Mykonos Greek restaurant in Berlin, Germany. A trial followed the assassination caused tensions between Iran and a number of European countries. In 1959, he received his degree in chemistry at the Institute of Higher Education in Teheran; from then onwards, up to 1965, he taught chemistry in the Kurdish towns of Ourmieh and Mahabad.
