Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Saether Crags is a high rock crags just south of Steinskaret Gap in the Kurze Mountains of Queen Maud Land. Mapped from surveys and air photos by Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956-60) and named for Hakon Saether, medical officer with Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956-57). Queen Maud Land is the part of Antarctica which was claimed by Norway as a dependent territory on 14 January 1939. This claim, like all others in the Antarctic, is not universally recognized and is subject to the terms of the Antarctic Treaty System. In Norwegian, it is called Dronning Maud Land, named for Maud of Wales (1869 1938), queen consort of King Haakon VII of Norway. It is also called this by the British Antarctic Survey.
