Safar Iranpak (23 December 1947 30 January 2009) was an Iranian football striker who played for Persepolis and the Iran national football team. He was born in Masjed Soleyman. He died on January 30, 2009 in Stockholm, Sweden from lung cancer. Forwards, also known as attackers and strikers, are the players on a team in association football who play nearest to the opposing team''s goal, and are therefore principally responsible for scoring goals. This very advanced position and its limited defensive responsibilities mean forwards normally score more goals than other players; accordingly, they are often among the best-known and most expensive players in their teams. This is one of the most demanding positions, and it is usually associated with the most injuries.
