Safari Cards were a set of collectible cards featuring animals, sold by subscription mail order from the mid 1970s through the early 80s. Each card featured a different animal, with 4,200 different Safari Cards produced in total. The front of each card has a color photograph of the animal, a map of the world showing where the animal lived, and several symbols that gave additional information about the animal. On the back of the cards feature several hundred words of text about the animal, as well the scientific classification of the animal including the phylum, class, order, family, genus, and species, and also information about the animal''s size, weight, gestation period, and other information.
