High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles!Sagittarius X-4 (Sgr X-4) is 2U 1820-30, a LMXB in the globular cluster NGC 6624. Its visual counterpart is NGC 6624 DMA A. EXOSAT detected a 685 s period in 2U 1820-30. Lockheed 18 (L18) is at RA 18h 07m Dec -22.3°. Lockheed 19 (L19) is at RA 18h 02m Dec -21.0°. GX+9.1 is at RA 17h 50m Dec -20°. It was subsequently observed before August 27, 1973, at 3U 1744-26, and before January 12, 1974, at 4U 1744-26. Although designated as the first X-ray source to be detected and confirmed in the constellation Sagittarius, it was not. Sagittarius XR-1 was detected earlier on June 16, 1964.
