He served as finance minister from 1978 until 1982, and foreign minister from 1982 to 1990. He left office soon after the 1989 coup in which Abdallah was killed. He was born on Mayotte and died in Paris, France. The Comoros is an archipelago island nation in the Indian Ocean, located off the eastern coast of Africa, on the northern end of the Mozambique Channel, between northeastern Mozambique and northwestern Madagascar. Other countries near to the Comoros are Tanzania to the northwest and the Seychelles to the northeast. The capital is Moroni on Grande Comore.
