The 6 metre class event was part of the sailing programme at the 1924 Summer Olympics. The competition, the fourth appearance of the six metre class keelboat event, was held from July 10, 1924 to July 13, 1924 The boats were three-person keelboats. Nine boats, each from a different nation, competed. The qualifying round involved all nine boats racing in three races. Any boat which finished in the top two of a race earned a spot in the finals. Points-for-place were calculated for use in ranking non-qualified boats as well as a tie-breaker for the finals.
