At the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, three events in sailing were contested. Races were held from August 2, 1928 to August 9, 1928 on the Zuider Zee. The boats were single-person dinghies, French National Monotype 1924. 17 sailors, each from a different nation, competed. Two qualifying rounds were held. For each, the 17 competitors were divided into two races of 8 competitors each, plus an automatically qualifying competitor. That competitor and the top two finishers in each race qualified for the final round.
