High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Saim Kokona (26 February 1934 in Gjirokastër, Albania is the most prolific Albanian cinematographer in the Cinema of Albania. Kokona began working in film in 1964 on Qemal Stafa and has undetaken the cinematography of over 40 films between then and 1990, working on major Albanian films such as Brazdat (1973) and Apasionata (1983). The cinema of Albania had its start in the years 1911 1912.The first public showings began in the cities of Shkodër and Korçë; these showings were of foreign films. The first Albanian films were mostly documentaries, the first film being about the Manastir Congress that sanctioned the Albanian alphabet in 1908.
