Salivary Sialic Acid As A Marker In Leukoplakia

Even though saliva lacks drama of blood,sincerity of sweat, emotions of tears,saliva should be used as a biomarker as its organic constituents like sialic acid shows variation during pre-malignant condition like leukoplakia and oral squamous cell carcinoma. This procedure is economical & can be repeated at chair side with very minimal laboratory equipments which makes it cost effective. Our study was just an small successful attempt still further more research has to be done in this context.
