SAKM is intended to be used in conjunction with a MANET routing protocol that provides security features that require the use of asymmetric cryptography (like SAODV).

Manel Guerrero-Zapata, PhD: He is the author of SAODV and SAKM. He worked at the Nokia Research Center in Helsinki as Research Scientist and currently works as Assistant Professor in the Computer Architecture Department at the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) in Barcelona. His research interests include security and routing protocols.
