Satellite Television Broadcast Learning Situations in Ethiopia

Science and technology are currently overwhelming the day to day life very rapidly. Governments of the developing countries, like Ethiopia are giving emphasis to science and technology convinced that they are part of the major means of development. Education is also one of the entities influenced by this rapid change enforcing governments to change their policies in line with the new trend, supporting education electronically. In recent years there has been considerable divergence of opinions among mathematics and science educators as to the degree of appropriateness of satellite TV broadcast lessons for mathematics and science subjects in which its support to the school teachers is inevitable at least to the minimum. Quite naturally, this book reflects the opinions of students, teachers and administrators involved in this system, and provides challenges and opportunities during the implementation, suggesting a way out for effective utility.Thus, the book is intended to help instructors and educators who plan to use effective satellite television broad cast lessons in mathematics and sciences subjects for high school students,so that students and teachers might find it rewarding.
