This book is a natural continuation of the volumes "Linear differential equations. Classical and modern theory" and "First order partial differential equations. Hamilton-Jacobi theory", published recently by the same authors in LAMBERT Academic Publishing. Now the second order PDEs are studied, as well as their relationship with the mean properties and maximum principles. This volume and the two preceding ones reflect the point of view and the experience of the first author on these subjects. The book is devoted to high-level students, Master students, professors, engineers and any reader interested in this field.

Prof. Dr. Valter Olariu: PDEs, DEs, differential operators, mathematical Physics. Over 70 scientific articles and 42 books. He was awarded by the Romanian Ministry of Education. Prof. Dr. Octav Olteanu: mathematical analysis, functional analysis, moment problem, polynomial approximation on unbounded subsets; 69 published articles and 14 books.
