Secure Group Communication Protocols in Wireless Mobile Environment

Secure group communication has gained popularity due to their interesting and promising functionalities such as video on demand, teleconferencing, and pay per view channels. The development of wireless networks and the emergence of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets have also increased the demands for these types of secure group communication. These applications facilitate real-time information exchange among a large number of users over wireless mobile environment. In this scenario, the key management protocols provide a secure way of communicating with group members across multiple entities. Key management protocols provide member authentication, access control, and management of the keying material. This book presents a comparative study of the existing group key management (GKM) schemes. The outcome of this study is used to investigate the challenges and issues in current GKM schemes for secure group communication.
