Food safety, food security and business continuity represent essential problems for the economic agents, the consumers and the political factors.The continuous need for food of an increasingly large population led to a worldwide reconsideration of the food production, distribution and business continuity assurance. Food supply continuity assurance is supported by economic considerations coming from producers or merchants, by the increasing demand on the market or by the political implications regarding food security assurance among the population. The modern food sector faces a number of challenges, caused by trade globalization, rapid evolution of trade techniques, global climatic changes, resource limitation or by the need for thorough information about food products.The increase in global food demand, the appearance of new food products, the changes in consumer preferences,the continuous rising prices and the retail food product multinational network expansion are factors that re-shape the global global market.
